Why:
I first embraced my desire to create pretty things when I was a young child. My daD (he spelled it backward) owned a string of print and typesetting shops, and I spent hundreds of hours at his side. I learned to type before I turned ten (easiest class I ever took in high school!), and I was creating fantastic artwork (think Picasso, rather than Renoir’s impressionism) using exacto blades, letraset sheets, and wax long before I learned to drive. As digital art technology has progressed, I’ve been right there with it, developing my skills with every new technique and toolset.
My name is Heide Randall, and I look forward to working with you! I reside in the beautiful Piedmont Region of Northern Virginia with my amazing husband of over 35 years, Mark, along with two of the most adorable hound dogs you’ve ever seen, Hooch and Remi. My favorite part about freelancing is that I come in close contact with many different projects. I feel lucky to be able to continue expanding my skills and to discover new abilities with each new design challenge.
I have over 35 years of experience as a graphic and web designer, with expansive knowledge of digital, print, and web production. This includes, but certainly isn’t limited to: mockups, interactive wireframes, online presentations, speaker decks (PowerPoint and Google Slides), landing pages, pre-press and print projects, CMS, corporate branding, logo design, annual reports, book and magazine design and layout, proposal graphics, infographics, responsive web design, email campaign design and production, websites and website themes/skins.
I possess a strong understanding of both corporate and studio/agency environments, utilizing a combination of expert technical knowledge and creative insight. I am highly proficient and experienced in the Adobe Creative Suite product line (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.), the entire Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.), as well as G Suite / Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets, Sites, etc.).
