MNSPECT is a small company with a huge responsibility. They work with townships, municipalities and cities in Minnesota. A site that instructs in what they do, as well as performs the function of education the public was needed. Plans were created initially on reams of paper prior to the hand off to me.
One of the most unique things about this site is that it answers to several “taskmasters”. MNSPECT needed to be able to talk to people who belonged to managed municipalities, as well as encourage new municipalities to sign on. A combination of a sales page with a ton of instructional value as well.
Also needed was the ability to sell code books, and allow people to pay for “in person” classes. Requested was a map that showed all of the municipalities, and the ability to see all classes on a map, search by location, type of class and date.
MNSPECT was setup with a WordPress MultiSite that allows MNSPECT to also setup different sub-sites for each municipality. There were differing needs for each. Some of the custom development included:
- Electronic forms with automatic calculations
- Payment processing
- Classes and courseware sales
- Massive amounts of information in the form of PDFs to be presented
- Descriptive information about services offered
